Counselor Profile: The fact that you found your way to this website, makes me think that you are ready for some help and guidance. The career transition process, no matter what stage you might be at, is both overwhelming and daunting. To boot, the rules have changed! Finding a job has never been more complex, and career change is unexpectedly appearing as part of your vocabulary. Where do you start?

I am a results-oriented career coach with an eye on cutting edge technology, but enough compassion to know how to provide you with the support you need in this challenging process. For over 15 years I have been motivating and facilitating job seekers and career changers to find their path, and overcome the obstacles that might stand in their way.  I am passionate about this work and my quest is to help you realize your strengths, envision your future, and show you how to get there! I created Careerfolk, LLC, a full service career management company to provide a range of services and resources to help your achieve your goals.  If you have unexpectedly found yourself in career transition, are a recent graduate, or a mom returning to work, my goal is to introduce you to the 21st century Career Management Toolbox. The traditional approach doesn't work any more, and if you are struggling or even unsure of what a “new” approach entails, then I can help you.

You can't Stand out if you don't know what you Stand for! Most people struggle in their pursuit of a career or even to succeed in their job search if they have not done a self- assessment. Knowing yourself, and what you stand for (your Brand) is the foundation for a successful job search, and even more, a successful career! quality profile (MBTI) values, and interests (Strong Interest Inventory) but I also help you look at your past to assess your passions, and the future to help you identify where you want to be in 5, 10, or 15 years! The answers to all these questions are fundamental to helping you make the right career choices now!

What's in your Job Search Toolbox? Whether you have been thrust into the job search process for the first time, or laid off for, what must feel like the millionth time, you must ask yourself is your resume up to date, and I don't mean have all the current info! I mean, is it the same resume format you have used for the last 10 years, since college, etc, or is it a dynamic & compelling marketing document that shouts out, "read me". I'll let you make that decision. If you take a quick look at your resume, what do you notice first? Is it the most important information on the page? Does it get you excited? Would you hire you? My hunch is that your resume is not as compelling and engaging as it could be because resume formats have changed and in today’s world that piece of paper has to dance. That takes a lot more work. I can make your resume dance!   Even Cover- Letter styles have changed to fit the blackberry. In today’s overcrowded job market a streamlined message that grabs the attention of your targeted audience is the goal. It’s my role to show you how to do that! On my website, I offer free critiques, please feel free to email me.

What kind of networker are you? Reluctant, conflicted, or lacking confidence. The more important question is, how healthy is your network? Whether you are an introvert or not, everybody has a network, it is just a matter of how you define it, and then how to access it. We all have to start somewhere, and yes, you can! Linkedin and other social media sites, as well as, my favorite, Meetup.com have revolutionized networking. I have helped even the most reluctant networkers to become bold and confident networkers! . From college grads to baby-boomer career changers, I take you step by step through the process of how you can build your network so that you can access the “hidden” Job Market. Now, more than ever, you have no choice but to embrace and engage in networking in your day-to-day life.  In addition, as a linkedin expert and networking advocate, I introduce you to the people in my network that might be appropriate for your job search, or new career exploration.

Understanding Social Media and the Job Search In today's economy, job seekers and career changers have no choice but to embrace technology. As a linkedin expert, once I help you feel at ease with it, a world of opportunity (literally) will open up and you won't look back. I provide 1-1 LInkedin Profile Development, makeovers and mini- consultations to answer all follow up questions.

There is a lot you need to explore: First, who you are and what you have to offer, and then, how to convey that to the world!
