Neil's interest and expertise is focused on the psychodynamic issues that impact on the ability to achieve job satisfaction, promotion, and high level performance.  Neil works with his clients in the exploration of internal issues which negatively affect their ability to progress.  The understanding gained from accessing internalized issues is used to help clients harness their skills and strengths to manage their careers positively and effectively. The process is focused on enabling the client to achieve their goals and to differentiate themselves from the competition, whether n their current work place, a new position at a new organization or in a career change.

Neil has extensive experience with mid-career adults and career change issues, and has worked with clients of all ages with career issues ranging from early career choice to coaching senior managers on issues relating to peer relations, advancement

Professional Background:
In addition to his private practice in career counseling,  Neil also maintains a practice in psychotherapy/psychoanalysis and organization consulting.  Neil has been the director of Human Resources for major corporations in the financial services industry and in leading edge technology firms for over thirty years with focus on strategic planning, succession planning, employee counseling and skills development, as well as the full range of corporate HR programs and policy. 

As an organization consultant and executive coach he has worked for major brokerage firms, insurance companies, banks, energy companies, bio-tech firms, ISPs, and other high technology companies.  He has also provided organization consulting and coaching to several organizations in the non-profit arena with varied social goals and programs ranging from senior citizen outreach to clinics providing individual and group treatment facilities.

Neil's latest publication Strategic Human Resource Management 2006: Taking Your Place at the Boardroom Table, was published in 2005 by the Institute for Management and Administration (IOMA).  

Education:
Neil is a graduate of the Westchester Institute for Training in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. He is a nationally certified and NYS licensed psychoanalyst. Neil holds a MA in Psychology from the New School for Social Research, a BA in Mathematics and European History from Hobart College, a Certificate in Advanced Organizational Consulting from The William Alanson White Institute, a Post-Masters Certificate in Career Development from the Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy.
