Counseling Specialties: My approach is eclectic, practical and customized. In my full time practice I specialize in a comprehensive and customized career assessment process. This thorough process generates a career/identity profile illuminating a "career best fit", options to explore, transferable skills, a work personality snapshot, and areas to develop. As a licensed psychologist I am able to perform psychological tests as well (for those who so choose), which indicate your interpersonal and relationship profile and underlying expectations and themes.
My clients include individuals of all levels who feel they have not reached their potential. Some who may want to discover and create new options for either practical or internal reasons, or others who may find themselves unemployed. Most of my clients suffer from major dissatisfaction with their present career. Adolescents who are embarking can benefit and obtain a broader perspective and increase self esteem. I address all transitions from high school through retirement and my clients are at all levels from entry to CEO's.
I am sensitive to all personality issues that normally surface at these times particularly inertia, issues of readiness, indecision, procastination, anxiety, fear and self-esteem. Besides assessment I perform psychotherapy, executive coaching, and consultation.
Counselor Profile: Dr. Bonnie Kellen is a Consulting and Clinical psychologist with 25 years of broad experiences encompassing a blend of counseling, clinical, and organizational psychology. She holds a Masters in Vocational Counseling from NYU, and a PH.D. in Organizational Psychology and a Post-Doctoral Respecialization in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University where she has been an adjunct faculty.
Besides her private practice she has performed training, college teaching, been a contributing author and speaker. Formerly the Director of the Post Graduate Center for Mental Health Ceritificate Program in Clinical Career Counseling.
She is founder and director of the Career Assessment and Consultation Center of New York, a company specializing in assessment, training and product design.
